Triptych (residual acts)

Working as a bartender for over seven years to sustain her practice, the rhythms of service work have become central to her work. Repetitive, often thoughtless actions,wiping tables, cutting fruit, stepping outside for a cigarette, are re-examined as gestures of labour and routine.

This piece takes the form of a triptych of moving image works. These actions are performed, then digitally removed, leaving only traces; ghost-like impressions of the act The work explores absence, repetition, and mediation.
